IFM Investors, an investment management firm based in Australia, has launched a new office in the Swiss city of Zurich.

The new office marks the firm’s ninth location worldwide and its third location in Europe.

Other branches of the firm are located in London, Berlin, Melbourne, Sydney, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Seoul.

IFM Investors CEO Brett Himbury said: “IFM Investors’ decision to establish a Swiss office, is a demonstration of our local commitment to one of the largest existing investor markets in Europe.

“We recognise the importance of the Swiss retirement market and its increasing allocation to non-traditional assets by long-term investors.”

The Zurich office and its business development efforts will be headed by Anna Demarmels.

Demarmels has an experience of over 15 years in the asset management sector. In the past six years, she headed the Swiss operations at IFM Investors.

She will now be responsible for building a local team and will work alongside executive director of infrastructure Werner Kerschl.
