British banking group HSBC has appointed Sai Tampi as global head of funds and exchange traded funds (ETF).

In his new role, Tampi will be responsible for the development and distribution of funds and ETFs for global clients. He will also manage the global fund selection team.

Tampi will be based in London and report to Henry Lee, head of managed investment solutions, global private banking.

He most recently served as head of business development for global strategic alliances at Standard Life Investments in London.

Prior to that, Tampi held executive roles at HSBC and Credit Suisse in India, including head of portfolio management, local head & CIO for Multi Asset Class Solutions, and head of asset management.

Commenting on the appointment, Lee said: “We are delighted that Sai is returning to HSBC. His considerable experience will further strengthen our products leadership team, and ensure that we continue to provide our clients with innovative investment opportunities and solutions in the Funds and ETFs arena.”
