HSBC Private Banking for the Americas has partnered with fintech firm iCapital Network to facilitate access to alternative investments for clients. The HSBC Private Bank iCapital offering will enable qualified clients and their investment counsellors can utilise the iCapital platform to assess and allocate their private equity, private credit and hedge fund investments.
The initiative forms part of HSBC’s plan to strengthen its investment management capabilities as well as its product portfolio for high-net-worth clients.
The platform will also enable them to select fund managers with experience of working with institutional investors and make online investing below the industry threshold of $5m.
Additionally, the investors can utilise various analytical tools and due diligence information to analyse individual investment offerings.
HSBC Global Private Banking Americas CIO Russell Schofield-Bezer said: “Clients looking to diversify their portfolios are increasingly interested in alternative investments.
“Our partnership with iCapital provides our clients with the platform and technology to access a broader product suite and seamlessly integrate alternatives into their investment allocations.”
iCapital Network CEO Lawrence Calcano added: “We’re pleased that HSBC Global Private Banking has selected iCapital as a technology partner to help their investment counsellors provide clients with streamlined and efficient access to a broad selection of alternative investments.
