Atlanta-based registered investment adviser (RIA) Homrich Berg (HB) is opening a new office in Palm Beach, Florida, to expand its footprint across South Florida.

Concurrently, the firm has hired a three-adviser team to manage its South Florida operations from the new office.

Kevin Campbell and Amy Owen will join HB’s Palm Beach office as managing directors while Sara Whipple will oversee client service operations.

The team specialises in offering wealth management services for ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals. They are joining the firm from GenSpring SunTrust Private Wealth, where they managed over $1.5bn in assets.

According to HB, its new team will ‘greatly expand the roster of advisers’ offering family office services.

The company also said that its new South Florida team will be joined by at least one of its current advisers.

HB CEO Andy Berg said: “We have been discussing adding a physical office in Florida for many years given our numerous clients in the state.

“We wanted to find the right cultural fit and experienced advisor team first to ensure a strong launch, and I am pleased to welcome these great people to HB.”

Earlier this year, HB’s family office division appointed Emily Bentley as managing director. Bentley joined the firm from JP Morgan Private Bank.

Homrich Berg president Thomas Carroll said: “I am confident that they will bring the same passion and focus on HB client needs and priorities, making them a great culture fit to help our firm expand beyond its Atlanta roots. Florida represents a natural starting point for our regional expansion, and I’m pleased Amy, Kevin and Sara will be leading our efforts in the area.”

Commenting on the development, Campbell said: “We are thrilled to not only offer clients continued access to great technology and wealth planning resources, but also expand their ability to participate in areas such as private alternative investments.”
