Flohr did not intend to
become a private aviation tycoon and spent the majority of his
business career in the financial services sector, falling into
aviation partly by accident.

Born in Erlenbach,
Switzerland, where his father was a teacher, he moved to Munich to
study business and political science. After graduating from
university, Flohr began a 14-year career at Comdisco, a
Chicago-based technology leasing firm.

When Comdisco filed for
bankruptcy in 2001 and was broken up, Flohr purchased its Swiss and
Austrian divisions and founded his own company, Comprendium Finance
SA, now a leading provider of IT equipment throughout the German
speaking world.

In 2003, Flohr bought his
first private jet; he painted it metallic, fitted a comfortable
interior and chartered it out. Within a year, his jet was almost
constantly chartered and so he bought another jet and did exactly
the same. Thus was born VistaJet.
