Hawksmoor Investment Management, an investment and fund management business, has appointed Michael Bishop as its new managing director.

Michael has over two decades of experience in the wealth management sector. He worked at UBS, where he led the ultra high net worth wealth management business in Northern Europe.

Michael’s career also includes a role at WH Ireland, an AIM-listed company providing broking and wealth management services, where he served as head of wealth management.

His responsibilities there encompassed discretionary investment management and financial planning.

“The business has achieved a great deal in recent years and its aspirations for the future are clear and credible.  I am looking forward to meeting all the staff and working with them as we progress through the next stages of the business’ development.”

Michael takes over from Sarah Soar, who has stepped down after five years at the helm of Hawksmoor.

Hawksmoor parent company Hurst Point Group CEO Ian Gladman said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sarah for her hard work and commitment to the business over the last five years and welcome Michael as her successor.

“I look forward to working closely with Michael to develop the investment management part of our business further in the coming years.”

In June 2022, Hawksmoor agreed to acquire UK-based Gore Browne Investment Management. The merger was finalised in November same year.

Hawksmoor focuses on managing private client, trust, and charity portfolios. It offers multi-asset funds-of-funds and a series of risk-based model portfolios for financial advisers.

The company has offices in Exeter, London, Taunton, Bath, and Worcester.
