Grant Samuel Funds Management (GSFM) has opened a representative office in Brisbane, Queensland.
The new office will be managed by Steven Taylor, a former Queensland state manager at Challenger Group. He will also be responsible for developing GSFM’s client base in greater Brisbane and Far North Queensland.
Additionally, the firm has also appointed Shaun Thomas as account manager in Sydney, after business demand in New South Wales doubled over the past year.
Thomas, who has nearly 10 years of experience in business development, previously worked at Australian Unity Investments. He has also held a number of senior business development roles at HSBC Global Investments and Macquarie Investment Management.
Damien McIntyre, director and head of distribution at GSFM, said: "Queensland is estimated to represent 20% of the retail market for financial planner or dealer groups and we felt it required a dedicated business development manager.
