US banking group Goldman Sachs has collaborated with the UK’s Immersive Labs to offer a training programme on cybersecurity for its employees.
Under the partnership, the bank will use Immersive Labs’ browser-based platform to test the cyber-resilience of its staff.
This will be done by offering scenarios and gamified lab environments to the bank’s cyber security teams. The aim will be to address attacker psychology, digital countermeasures, as well as breach response.
The platform will later be deployed among the bank’s 8,000 developers as well as other types of employees.
Goldman Sachs chief information security officer and head of tech risk Andy Ozment said: “There is a critical shortage of cyber professionals across the globe which makes it difficult for organisations to find talented individuals and puts added pressures on existing cyber professionals to keep their skills sharp.”
Immersive Labs CEO and founder James Hadley added: “The best of the best cyber talent likes to learn; however, they don’t like to be taught. The cyber skills shortage is one of the largest problems facing the technology sector today, and as a result attackers are winning.
