Swiss asset manager GAM has hired Perhad Merwanji from UBS Wealth Management to serve as portfolio director for its private clients and charities business.

Based in London, Merwanji will be tasked with managing the firm’s multi-asset offering for high net worth individuals, family offices as well as charities.

At UBS, Merwanji served as head of portfolio advisory and capital markets for 11 years.

He previously also worked as a US equity fund manager at Royal London Asset Management and as a portfolio manager at Schroders Investment Management.
