Matthew Beddall, the former CIO of London’s Winton Capital Management, has launched his own investment boutique named Havelock London.
Beddall, who had a 17-year stint at Winton, will be supported by former colleagues Kate Land and Alisdair Wren at the new firm. Land formerly was the research director at Winton, and Wren previously held the role of technology director at Winton.

By GlobalDataAt Havelock London, Beddall will hold the role of CEO, Land chief data scientist and Wren chief technology officer.
The new firm will also have Neil Carter as the chief commercial officer. Carter joins from Jupiter Asset Management, where he was the head of Middle East and Africa.
“We believe in a value-based approach to investing, and that this can be made more efficient and rigorous through the use of technology. We have a depth of experience in the practical use of data analytics to manage money, and are working hard to develop a product offering that will turn our aspirations into a reality,” Carter stated.
