Wealth management technology provider Finantix has named Haruka Homma as the country manager for its businesses in Japan and South Korea.

Homma has spent more than 25 years in the financial services and IT space.

In this time, he has served at IBM, Nucleus Software Exports, Microsoft and Temenos, Merrill Lynch, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Fujisoft and The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.

He specialises in AI, fintech, blockchain, cloud, and omnichannel technologies, among other areas.

In Asia, Finantix operates through branches in Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

The latest appointment is said to have been triggered by the increasing client demand for digital wealth management technologies.

Finantix regional director for Asia Damien Piper said: “This is the first of a series of senior hires as part of our strategy to build local teams that really understand the region’s financial markets, local cultures and market dynamics.

“Our long-standing commitment to the region and our strong track record means we are well placed to help financial institutions leverage their existing and future investments in technology.

“Haruka will play an important role as we execute further major transformational digital programmes for our expanding customer base.”

Banking major HSBC tapped Finantix two weeks ago to launch a global client wealth management portal.

Deutsche Bank also partnered with the software provider recently to improve its KYC processes.
