USA UHNWIs by sector

United States is the largest economy in the world with a GDP value of US$15.1 trillion in 2011. This equates to a high 22% of global GDP. US is also highly wealthy on a per capita basis. According to official estimates, wealth per capita in the United States amounted to US$171,800 at the end of 2011.

UHNWIs who acquired their wealth from financial services – the most important sector for UHNWI wealth creation – also performed well, with their volumes rising by 11.5% over the review period, from less than 5,930 UHNWIs in 2007 to over 6,600 in 2011. Manufacturing in second place, is the primary source of wealth for 15.9% of US UHNWIs.
