Fidelity International has named Christian Staub as the managing director of its continental European business, replacing Jon Skillman who will now oversee global workplace investing at the firm.

Staub will join Fidelity from BlackRock in August 2018. In the new role, he will be based in Luxembourg and will report to the company’s interim president, Simon Haslam.

At the same time, Staub will also join Fidelity’s global operating committee.

During his four years stint at at BlackRock, Staub worked held various roles including head of institutional client business for continental Europe and country head for Switzerland.

He previously also served at Allianz Asset Management, Pimco and UBS.

“Christian has experience of running sizeable distribution businesses and a deep understanding of the needs of European institutional and wholesale clients. Combined with his prior roles within investment management, this provides the best possible combination of the skills required to manage our Continental European business, which spans 19 countries and accounts for over $120bn of client assets,” Haslam noted.
