Fidelity International has appointed Bart Grenier as global head of its £233bn asset management business.

He will be based in London and report directly to Brian Conroy, president of Fidelity International.

In the newly created role, Grenier will be responsible for growing and developing the firm’s investment management resources to provide better investment solutions to its clients.

He joined Fidelity in 1991 before leaving in 2005 to join DB Advisors, part of Deutsche Asset Management, as chief investment officer. After that, he served as the CEO and chairman of The Boston Company Asset Management from 2011 to 2017.

Grenier re-joined Fidelity in July 2017 and was named head of investment solutions and innovation in Fidelity’s personal investing division.
