Fidelity Worldwide Investment (FWI) has added Aberdeen Asset Management, First State Investments and Investec Asset Management to its open funds platform, FundsNetwork.
The new additions will bring the total number of external managers on the platform to 13 and will add a total of 30 funds to the platform.
Currently, FundsNetwork provides more than 220 products to retail investors in Hong Kong.
Additionally, Fidelity is planning to add two more managers this year in order to deliver a wider range of fund options, said Fidelity’s regional head of retail for Asia ex-Japan, Bruno Lee.
Alex Boggis, managing director at Aberdeen in Hong Kong, said that the fund platform aims to provide potential for more diverse distribution.
Bruno Lee told Asia Asset Management that the new funds added to platform include global, regional, and country equity funds, sector funds, global and emerging markets bond funds, local currency bond funds, as well as corporate debt funds.
"As a value-added service to help our customers construct their own investment portfolio within a wide range of fund and managers choices, we have a quarterly ‘select list’ which highlights the funds that our investment experts choose based on their quantitative and qualitative analysis," he added.
