California-based EP Wealth Advisors has purchased Seattle-based peer Conlon Dart Wealth Management for an undisclosed sum.

The deal adds more than $500m in assets to EP Wealth’s books.

EP Wealth managed over $4bn in assets at the end of March 2019.

It has branches in Torrance, San Francisco Bay area, San Diego, West Los Angeles, Irvine, Seattle and Denver.

The takeover also raises the firm’s client base by over 300.

As part of the transaction, Conlon Dart co-founders Mitch Conlon and Stephen Dart will serve as regional director and partner at EP Wealth.

Conlon Dart senior financial advisers Rick Bryan and Joe Boden will also move to EP Wealth, becoming senior vice president, senior wealth adviser and partner.

EP Wealth president and CEO Patrick Goshtigian said: “EP Wealth remains committed to growth in 2019, expanding our resources, capabilities and geographic reach.

“Aligning with the right partners who enhance our client offering is central to that mission.

“Conlon Dart and EP Wealth share a commitment to providing clients with holistic, sophisticated planning and superior service.”

EP Wealth has been on a buying spree lately.

In 2018, the company acquired Caves & Associates, Donnelly Wealth Advisors, as well as Millie Capital Management.

All of these acquired firms are headquartered in California.

EP Wealth also bought Colorado’s Rampart Wealth Advisors last year.
