Swiss private banking group EFG International has decided to integrate its legal and compliance functions into a single unit, which will be led by Yves Aeschlimann.
Aeschlimann, who is being appointed as the new group head of legal & compliance, is set to join the company’s Executive Committee on 01 May 2019. The joining is subject to regulatory approval.
Current group chief compliance officer, Vittorio Ferrario, will be leaving the company at the end of the first quarter of next year, and will be succeeded by Aeschlimann.
Aeschlimann previously served as group head of Legal and Compliance at Edmond de Rothschild. At EFG, he will oversee the newly combined unit and will be responsible to enhance the company’s regulatory compliance framework.
EFG International CEO Giorgio Pradelli said: “I would like to express my sincerest thanks to Vittorio Ferrario for his commitment and the vital role he played in the successful completion of the integration process.
“At the same time, we are pleased that Yves will join EFG as group head of Legal & Compliance. With his extensive experience, Yves will be a strong addition to our management team.
