Dutch lender Van Lanschot Bankiers has partnered with Sopra Banking Software of France to launch a new online savings account, Evi, in Belgium.
The move by Van Lanschot is part of a plan to grow its business in the country.

Sopra Banking Software offered its core banking engine for the online savings account.
Van Lanschot management committee member, Paul Timmermans, said their solution was simple: team up with market leaders that have a proven solution.
"That’s why we chose Sopra Banking Software, who demonstrated that they could provide the adequate solution and a proven methodology, enabling a new bank launch within tight deadlines," Timmermans added.
Sopra Banking Software CEO, Jean-Paul Bourbon, said they are able to offer the right solutions to support new bank launches, which includes advice and implementation, to enable their customers’ success.
"We were happy to meet Evi’s expectations, once more reinforcing our key value of always putting customers at the core," Bourbon added.
