Duet – CI Capital, a joint-venture between alternative asset manager Duet Group and Egyptian investment bank CI Capital, has hired Amr Helal to head the firm’s Egypt Opportunities Fund.

Helal will manage the $300m private equity fund dedicated to investing in Egyptian businesses, apart from driving strategies to improve partnerships with leading entrepreneurs, targeting a long term sustainable value.

Helal previously worked at Abraaj Group.

Commenting on the appointment, Duet Group co-founder and CEO Henry Gabay said: "Amr brings a proven track record of investing and operating in Egypt and the region, as well as 15 years of experience in private equity and financial services.
