Turkey has the population of 75 million and is the 17th most populous country in the world. Turkey’s nominal GDP was valued at US$773 billion in 2011, ranking its economy 18th in the world in terms of size and the second-largest in Central and Eastern Europe (behind Russia).
As of 2012, Diversified is the most important industry from which Turkish UHNWIs have acquired their wealth – it is the primary source of wealth for 43% of local UHNWIs. Financial services is in second place. Other important industries for UHNWIs include transport and logistics (10.2%), construction and engineering (7.6%), and manufacturing (7.0%).
