Diginex has hired Chi-Won Yoon as chairman of Asia.

Yoon has more than three decades of experience in financial services, including investment banking, wealth management and asset management. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from M.I.T. and a master’s degree in finance from M.I.T. Sloan School of Management.

Prior to his new role, Yoon was vice chairman of UBS Wealth management for 22 years. He was responsible for developing and enhancing long-term strategic relationships.

Yoon served as president and CEO of UBS AG, Asia Pacific and was a member of the UBS group executive board from 2009 to 2015. He managed the firm in 13 countries in the region and was responsible in UBS’ investment banking, wealth management and global asset management divisions.

At UBS, he established the equity derivatives business in Asia and held positions in the investment bank including head of equities and head of securities Asia Pacific. Yoon also served as Hong Hong country head.

Prior to UBS, Yoon worked at Lehman Brothers in New York and Hong Kong and, before that, Merrill Lynch in New York.

At Diginex, Yoon will work with business heads to bring its digital asset financial services and blockchain solutions to partners and investors throughout Asia.
