Team head David Ng, private bankers Florence Tee and Katherine Lok, as well as investment adviser Lee Chin Kit are part of the team led by Widjaja.

Widjaja most recently served as the managing director and market head for Indonesia at SBC Private Bank in Singapore.

Prior to joining HSBC in 1999, she worked at Merrill Lynch Singapore, Banque Indosuez Indonesia and American Express Bank Indonesia.

The latest hire aligns with the bank’s commitment to hire around 100 private bankers in high-growth markets, mainly in the Asia Pacific region. Keeping up with the strategy, which was announced last year, the bank has recruited over 60 staff for its Asia Pacific wealth arm in the last six months.
