Crestone Wealth Management has appointed former UBS chief economist Scott Haslem as its new CIO, replacing David Sokulsky.
Haslem will join Crestone, a UBS spinoff, in January 2018. He most recently served as the managing director and chief economist, head of macro research for Australia & New Zealand at UBS.
He previously also had a seven-year stint at the Reserve Bank of Australia, mainly in the economic activity and forecasting section.
Crestone head of investments, products and services Adam Ginnivan said that Scott’s two-decade long career in financial markets and investment banking will bring several opportunities.
“These opportunities include providing extensive economics research and investment strategy across all asset classes but in particular equities and fixed income opportunities and engaging with all our clients, fund managers, superannuation funds and financial advisers,” Ginnivan noted.
