Credit Suisse has appointed Gabriele D’Agosta as head of private banking Italy as well as head of Italian operations.
D’Agosta will report to Robert Cielen, head of International Wealth Management Europe.
He replaces Giorgio Vio, who will now work with him to ensure a seamless handover of responsibilities.
D’Agosta joins Credit Suisse from UBS. He has over two decades of experience in wealth management and corporate advisory, with a primary focus on Italian entrepreneurs and wealth management clients.
Prior to UBS, he worked at Rothschild and Morgan Stanley.
Commenting on the new appointment, Cielen said: “Gabriele’s drive and experience will help further develop our team in Italy, where we are honoured to have been serving our clients locally for over 30 years. We will continue to invest in and hire in this key market, which is of strategic importance to the bank.

Credit Suisse has also hired a number of relationship managers (RM) recently to its wealth management team in Italy.
These includes the appointment of Edoardo Ravano, Andrea Di Carlo and Edoardo Longhini to the firm’s Italian wealth management team as senior RMs in Milan.
In addition, it has hired Matteo Carraro and Roberto Bettati as senior RMs in Padua.
Ginevra Calegari d’Oria joined as a Tied Agent and Stefano Mussati will soon join the team as an investment expert.
Falco, who leads its IWM Investment Banking Advisory Coverage Europe, has been moved to Milan.
