Swiss wealth manager Credit Suisse has appointed a new head of greater China and new co-head of Asia Pacific investment banking and capital markets after Mervyn Chow decided to step down from both the positions.

Zeth Hung, former head of investment banking and capital markets for greater China, has been named co-head of Asia Pacific investment banking and capital markets.

Carsten Stoehr will assume the role of CEO for greater China. In addition, he will continue as head of Asia Pacific Financing Group and chairman of Credit Suisse Hong Kong and Credit Suisse Hong Kong Securities.

Chow is departing from Credit Suisse after about two decades. He held various management roles and was accountable for key client servicing at the bank.

Hung joined Credit Suisse in 1998 and is based in Hong Kong. He was previously head of investment banking and capital markets for greater China. In his new role, Hung will work with Edwin Low, his fellow co-head based in Singapore.

Both Hung and Stoehr will report to Helman Sitohang, Credit Suisse’s Asia Pacific chief executive.
