Coutts has named three senior hires
in the Middle East as it builds out its regional presence to
include 20 new recruits in Abu Dhabi, Doha and Dubai in 2012.

Currently, Coutts generates about
60% of its business in the UK, and 40% internationally.

The new hires are in line with
Coutts’ growth plans of reversing that ratio and expanding
internationally at a faster pace.

The three senior appointments
are:

  • Arjun Mittal as regional head of Coutts’
    Non-Resident Indian (NRI) business. Mittal will be based in Dubai
    and will have the responsibility for the Middle East and European
    markets. He was previously a managing director at Bank Sarasin
    Alpen in Dubai.
  • Akram Khattab joins as an executive director,
    relationship management. based in geneva, the role focuses on
    expanding Coutt’s presence in the Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
    Prior to his latest position, Khattab was the managing director and
    head of private banking at Mashreq Bank.
  • Ali-Reza Vahabzadeh joins as a vice
    president, relationship management.  Vahabzadeh will also be
    based in Geneva where he will focus on expanding Coutts’ business
    in Abu Dhabi and Qatar. Vahabzadeh was part of Citi Private Bank’s
    Abu Dhabi operation before joining Coutts.
