Mark has more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services sector. Since starting his career in the tax division of Arthur Andersen, Mark moved into investment advisory roles with Quilter and Deloitte before joining Barclays Wealth in 2004. While primarily engaged in client-facing and business development activities, Mark was also responsible for opening and heading up a new office for the firm in Liverpool.

Commenting on this appointment, Paul Summerell said: "We are delighted to have someone of Mark’s experience join the team. Leveraging his extensive connections in the North West, Mark will be a significant asset in our development of new and existing business."

Separately, Barry Grieve, Paul Spann and Simeon Livesey recently joined Coutts in Manchester as Director, Associate Director and Associate, respectively. Paul joins from HSBC where he managed a complex portfolio of both private banking and commercial clients in Manchester and Cheshire. Both Barry and Simeon were previously at Natwest. Barry has more than 31 years’ experience in corporate and private banking, primarily in Manchester. His most recent role being Head of Operations, Natwest Private Banking. Simeon spent the last 10 years in financial services, his previous role being a Private Banking Manager at Natwest Private Banking.

"These appointments complement the current team and are part of a series of strategic hires within the region. We are confident they will further enable us to meet the increasing demand of Coutts wealth management and private banking services in the North West. We have always taken an advice-led approach and by being one of the first wealth managers to launch our RDR-compliant advice proposition last November, this has stood us in good stead in the face of the changing regulatory landscape", says Paul.
