As the new head, Sadr will be responsible for developing Coutts’ ultra high net worth (UHNW) proposition in the Middle East, a key area of focus in the business’s current expansion drive.

Sadr is the former head of the institutional client group and the family office group at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in London. He has been with Merrill Lynch for the past 12 years and joined the firm in 1995 as an equity sales trader.

After a brief period, Sadr worked with Lehman Brothers’ middle market equity and credit derivatives sales team and re-joined Merrill Lynch in 2002.

Commenting on the new appointment Duncan MacIntyre, head of Coutts private office, said that the bank has ambitious plans for its private office and is looking at expanding its services internationally.
