Columbia Threadneedle Investments has unveiled a new international equity fund that offers exposure to value and growth equity securities of non-US issuers.

The vehicle, dubbed Columbia Overseas Core Fund (COSAX), will invest in firms that have better growth potential and yield more returns.

The fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets in equity securities of foreign firms and a maximum of 20% of its assets in emerging market countries.

It will be managed by the firm’s head of the international equity team Fred Copper and its head of Japanese equities Daisuke Nomoto.

“Daisuke and I have worked closely together for 13 years, managing an overseas core strategy for institutional clients. We hope that by launching this new fund, we can offer a compelling international equity strategy to a broader set of investors demanding more options for EAFE-benchmarked funds,” Copper said.
