Columbia Threadneedle Investments has appointed Lorenzo Garcia as its new head of Europe, the Middle East & Africa (EMEA) client investment solutions.

Garcia will be based in London and will work with the company’s global investment team to offer investment solutions to EMEA clients.

He will report to the firm’s global head of investment solutions, Jeff Knight, and deputy global CIO, Mark Burgess.

Garcia is joining Columbia Threadneedle from Blackrock Investment Managers, where most recently he was head of EMEA institutional and retail portfolio management, ETF and Index Investments, overseeing 170 portfolios worth around £370bn in assets.

“Columbia Threadneedle has broad investment capabilities and market leading multi-asset expertise which leaves us well placed to deliver outcome oriented solutions. Lorenzo’s appointment will further enhance and strengthen our client offering in this area,” Burgess said.

Columbia Threadneedle Investments offers investment solutions to individual, institutional and corporate clients across the globe. It manages £361bn in assets and employs 2000 people including 450 investment professionals.
