British wealth manager Close Brothers Group has appointed Mike Morgan as its new group finance director, replacing Jonathan Howell.
Morgan will assume the new position following the firm’s annual general meeting in November this year, subject to regulatory nod. He will also have a seat on the board.
In addition to the new responsibility, he will also retain his existing role of CFO of the group’s banking unit that he has held since 2010. He will also continue as a member of the group and banking executive committees.
Morgan previously served as the finance director of the wealth management arm at RBS. He also had a stint at Scottish Provident.
Close Brothers CEO Preben Prebensen said: During his eight years with the Group, Mike has provided very effective leadership of the Banking finance, IT and operations teams, with an excellent track record of delivery.
“He brings deep knowledge of the Group and its markets, and his appointment ensures strong continuity in the Group’s leadership team.”
