Citi Private Bank Atlanta office is to open in the Buckhead region to serve UHNWIs and their families.
The new location will serve as the base for the bank’s Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky operations.
The office will be jointly led by UHNW private banker Austin Koenen and investment counsellor Doug Poetzsch. The pair will report to the bank’s regional market manager for Southeast US Luke Palacio.
“We are now witnessing a robust growth scenario for wealth creation underpinned by strong demographic and commercial shifts taking place in the South. Atlanta provides an ideal location to pursue this opportunity across the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky, and also serves as an additional touchpoint for our Southeastern clients,” Palacio noted.
Koenen, with an experience of over 15 years in the investment space, most recently worked at JPMorgan Private Bank in Atlanta.
He previously served as a vice president in equity syndicate for Nomura International and Lehman Brothers, and as a financial analyst in the fixed income unit at Morgan Stanley.
Poetzsch formerly worked as an associate equity sales trader as well as sales and trading analyst on the FX and structured product sales desks at Citi.
Plans are also on to hire more employees for the Buckhead office in the coming months.
