Chartered Institute of Management Accountant Bangladesh (CIMA Bangladesh) has launched a CIMA qualification in Islamic finance for the first time in the country, according to The Daily Star.
Currently 1,300 students across 70 countries are pursuing this qualification and it is available to staff currently working within the Islamic financial services industry and those entering this sector.
"This qualification is the first global qualification to focus on the fast growing sector of Islamic Finance," said CIMA regional director Bradley Emerson at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka.
CIMA said: "It is making a remarkable contribution to the gross domestic product and the sustainable development of the country."
Islamic banking has a collective market share of around 25% in the country."
