Julius Baer has appointed Burkhard Varnholt as their new chief investment officer (CIO) and head of the investment solutions group (ISG) as of March next year.

Both positions were previously held by Hans Lauber, who has decided to leave the bank due to personal reasons.

Varnholt holds over twenty years of experience in the Swiss banking industry and had previously been CIO at Bank J. Safra Sarasin before joining Julius Baer.

Boris Collardi, CEO of Julius Baer, said: "We are very pleased that with Burkhard we have found a most competent successor to take over Hans’ comprehensive responsibilities. Under his lead, ISG will further develop its offering to take it to an even higher level."
