C. Hoare & Co has continued its regional expansion, this time setting sights on the North East of England.
As a result, Carl Brian has been appointed senior relationship manager for C. Hoare & Co in the North East of England and will be responsible for growing the bank’s presence in Yorkshire and the region.
He will be based in Yorkshire and will report to Peter Gale, banking team leader.
Brian comes with over 20 years of experience managing customers across retail, private and commercial banking. Most recently, he was a senior relationship manager in Commercial and Corporate Banking at NatWest Group.
Prior to this, he held various positions including associate director, private banker and senior relationship manager under NatWest Group brands including Coutts and NatWest Private Banking.
Venetia Hoare said: “We have looked after customers in Yorkshire for many generations and are delighted that this link will be further strengthened by the appointment of Carl. I wish him a warm welcome and look forward to working together.”

By GlobalDataIn June, C. Hoare & Co, the oldest privately owned bank in the UK, appointed Diana Brightmore-Armour as its new chief executive (CEO).
Brightmore-Armour joined C. Hoare & Co in January 2020 as a non-executive director and holds 30 years’ international experience in banking and corporate finance. Most recently, she was CEO for UK and Europe at ANZ. Before that, she was CEO of corporate banking at Lloyds Banking Group.
Alexander Hoare, partner, said: “We are delighted to welcome Diana as our CEO. Her energy, vision, and integrity chimes exactly with the values of the bank and the Hoare family, while her proven expertise and leadership makes her the ideal person to take the bank forward.
Venetia Hoare, who became the bank’s first female partner in 1996, added: “Appointing a woman as our new CEO is another landmark in C. Hoare & Co.’s long history. I am looking forward to working with Diana and she is the right person to lead the bank.”
