British wealth manager Brown Shipley has appointed Nick Cringle to the newly created position of regional head for North West.

At present, Cringle serves as the director of private banking in Manchester at Arbuthnot Latham.

His financial career of over three decades includes a stint of more than 20 years at Coutts.

He was the global co-CIO of Coutts International in Hong Kong and the firm’s global head of tailored portfolio management in London.

He will assume the new responsibility this May and become part of the senior private client wealth management team.

He will also lead Brown Shipley’s Manchester office, replacing Jon Sherlock who will now focus on leading the firm’s nationwide growth.

In the new role, Cringle will report to head of private banking Guy Healey.

Commenting on the appointment, Healey said: “I am delighted that Nick will be joining us at Brown Shipley.

“He has deep experience and expertise in private client wealth management, and will bring significant leadership experience to our existing teams in the region.

“I am confident that our Manchester teams will build significantly upon their successful heritage and track record through our integrated wealth management proposition.”

Healey calls Manchester and the North West “extremely important” to the firm.
