Calum Brewster has been appointed as managing director, head of private banking & client solutions at UK-based Brown Shipley, a Quintet Private Bank.

Reporting to CEO Alan Mathewson, Brewster will ensure the continuation of strategic growth within the firm whilst leading the bank’s team of client advisers across the UK.

Praising Brewster’s industry expertise, Mathewson said the new appointment was “a real statement of our intent to deliver our strategic growth strategy”.

A former Heriot-Watt student, Brewster boasts more than 25 years financial experience. Joining from Julius Baer, where he was managing director and head of regions, Brewster has also held senior roles at Barclays Wealth, overseeing the business across Scotland, Northern Ireland and North England and Lloyds Banking Group, as head of client experience and strategy.

Mathewson continued: “I am confident that his experience means he is ideally placed to help lead us through this next stage of our transformation, as we work more closely with colleagues across Quintet to bring the whole of the bank to our clients.”

Brewster’s appointment is the latest amongst a series of other senior hires at Brown Shipley. Included in this are several individuals reporting to Brewster, namely: Matt Hoyne as head of Edinburgh Office; Elizabeth Weir as head of London and International; Martin Cuthbert as head of Manchester Office; and Gordon Scott, head of strategic partnerships and entrepreneurs network.
