Swiss private bank Bordier & Cie has created a new ideas lab called Bordier FinLab, to enhance its expertise in innovation and new investment solutions.

The new lab has been designed to find innovative solutions via traditional & non-traditional investment funds, private equity and complex structured products.

As part of the move, Bordier FinLab will collaborate with a circle of established institutional partners including a limited number of banks, family offices and independent asset managers.

Additioanlly, Bordier FinLab will also offer technology intelligence for developments affecting the banking industry and if appropriate will be used as an incubator for the Bordier Group.

The bank said that its managers can invest in new seed funds based on different investment criteria.

Bordier FinLab board members Véronique Grossen and Bertrand Clav said: "By launching an independent entity that nevertheless benefits from the bank’s support, and also its network, this work can be performed with the necessary intellectual and operational independence."
