BNY Mellon has appointed Stephan Koschmieder as the head of business development for the Germany, Austria and CEE region, a newly created role.

Based in Frankfurt, Koschmieder will be responsible for driving the growth of the firm’s custody, depositary and fund accounting services.

He will report to head of asset servicing business development for Northern Europe Dennis Presburg.

“Stephan has a strong track record working with banks and other institutional investors in Germany, Austria and other central and eastern European markets. His appointment underscores our commitment to providing an exceptional client experience and supports our growth ambitions across the region. The German market is a key strategic priority for BNY Mellon and we are committed to adding local strength and long-term stability to our client-facing team in Germany,” Presburg noted.

Koschmieder previously worked as the director and unit head of sales and relationship management at Euroclear, where he spent 11 years.

He formerly also had stints at financial software firms CQG and GL Trade, and at Standard & Poor’s Investor Services.
