BNP Paribas Asset Management has added two new members to its Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) and Index Solutions team in Europe in a bid to strengthen its business.

The company said that Maude Rivierre Bianchi has joined the organisation as a product specialist. Based in Paris, she will directly report to head of ETF Development Bertrand Alfandari.

Chiara Solazzo joined this month as a member of the ETF and Index Solutions sales team in Milan. Solazzo will report to the head of ETF sales for Italy and Spain, Sabrina Principi.

Last year, Victor Volard joined the sales team that caters to French clients, while Nitharshini Thevathas was hired in the product development team.

The new appointments are a part of the strategic growth plan of BNPP AM as it intends to double its assets under management in ETFs and index solutions.

BNP Paribas Asset Management head of quantitative & index management Isabelle Bourcier said: “The new organisational structure that BNP Paribas Asset Management has established is already showing results, and since I joined in mid-2016, we have accelerated our recruitment programme to reinforce our team responsible for the development of ETF and index solutions.

“After two years of intensive fund-raising, in 2016 and 2017, assets under management in our index business had grown to €19.5bn at the end of December 2017, and our positioning in Europe continues to progress.

“We intend to pursue this expansion with further recruitments before the end of this year.”

Currently, BNP Paribas Asset Management’s ETF and Index Solutions unit comprises 28 staff which includes ten managers and 18 business developers.
