As part of the development, BNP Paribas has appointed Bernt Kok as the CEO of the Netherlands division and named Arjan van Rijn as the head of Key Clients.

Kok, who has over 16 years of experience in wealth management, previously worked at ABN AMRO’s UHNW division in the Netherlands as the senior wealth manager and director of Private Wealth Management.

Rijn joins from Credit Suisse where he spent the last few years servicing entrepreneurs in the Netherlands.

BNP Paribas the Netherlands CEO Geert Lippens said: “BNP Paribas already has a leading position in wealth management in Europe and we want to actively build on this.

“I am pleased to welcome Bernt as CEO for Wealth Management. His strong experience and local network will help expand our wealth management offering in the Netherlands. Working with him, the broad knowledge and relationship management skills of Arjan are instrumental to the success of BNP Paribas Wealth Management in the Netherlands.”

BNP Paribas Wealth Management CEO Vincent Lecomte said: “This new team located in Amsterdam enables us to be even closer to clients and especially among entrepreneurs and families, through an international approach in conjunction with the Group which is already well-established in the Netherlands.

“These new appointments are part of our business development plan to serve European Entrepreneurs by supporting their international growth and meeting their needs for financing or investment.”

Last month, BNP Paribas wealth unit reported a rise in pre-tax income in Q4 2020 amid a challenging market.
