By GlobalDataThe alliance couples up the middle office, fund administration and custody services of BNP Paribas’ securities services unit with Aladdin’s infrastructure.
Aladdin offers risk analytics as well as portfolio management tools, trading, operations, compliance and accounting tools.
BlackRock global head of Aladdin business Sudhir Nair said: “We are particularly excited to have BNP Paribas Securities Services leverage the Aladdin platform to offer middle office services, providing our mutual clients with operating model flexibility and transparency.”
Aladdin will facilitate the execution of middle office outsourced services at the securities services division.
BNP Paribas Securities Services will maintain Aladdin’s investment book of record as “the trusted source of data”.
The securities services unit has been a client of French investment software provider eFront, which was snapped up by BlackRock last year.
It leverages eFront Invest to offer asset servicing solutions to alternative asset managers.
BNP Paribas Securities Services head of Asset Owners and Managers Client Lines Arnaud Claudon said: “This innovative operating model, which is already live and co-designed with our mutual client, BNP Paribas Asset Management, will combine all the advantages of a leading front office platform with those of our middle and back office capabilities and multi-local expertise.”
The latest partnership comes shortly after BlackRock’s partnership with Microsoft.
The tie-up enables the hosting of Aladdin on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
