BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed Alex Bernhardt to serve as the global head of Sustainability Research within its Sustainability Centre.
Taking over the role 21 April, Bernhardt’s reporting head is Jane Ambachtsheer, who is the global head of Sustainability.
He is also assigned to take over the responsibility of BNPP AM’s Sustainability research agenda and ESG scoring platform, as well as manage the team of ESG analysts.
Bernhardt will work with the Quantitative Research Group, which is tasked with the role of developing and delivering the firm’s sustainability research agenda.
He has received several awards for his work within insurance and investment on topics such as climate risk management, disaster resilience and impact investing.
He has joined BNPP AM from Marsh McLennan, where he served as director of Innovations, and helped clients to tackle systemic issues such as climate resilience, the catastrophe protection gap, diversity and sustainable infrastructure financing.
