Blue Owl Capital, an alternative asset manager, has named John Valtwies to run the company’s private wealth operations in Australia.
Valtwies used to work for global fund manager PIMCO as a senior executive of the global wealth management group. He oversaw the firm’s interactions with private clients during his time there, concentrating on ultra-high-net-worth advisory groups and private banks.

In addition, Valtwies oversaw the family office company, building trusting bonds with the market’s selective and distinct investors. In order to increase the firm’s semi-liquid alternative solutions for advisers and private clients, he also created growth initiatives. Likewise, Valtwies worked as a senior research analyst at Morningstar before joining PIMCO.

Valtwies employment is Blue Owl’s second senior hire in Australia. Furthermore, the group has appointed Alicia Gregory, the former deputy chief investment officer of Australia Future Fund, as a member of its institutional team in July 2024.
