Blackwell Global Hong Kong, an affiliate of UK-based forex and CFD brokerage Blackwell Global, has secured an asset management licence from Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
“The acquisition of the type 9 licence is a new milestone for the company, and demonstrates the Group’s ambition to become a leader in the financial industry,” Blackwell Global said in a statement.
The Type 9 licence allows the firm to deliver a broader range of asset allocation investment options covering listed stocks, fixed income and mutual funds.
The firm now intends to focus on Europe, Greater China, New Zealand as well as Australia.
“The brokerage aims to meet the increasing demands for a secure, one-stop investment solution provider, especially with the gateway opened via Stock Connect, paving the way for Chinese, and increasingly, international clients demanding a robust and firmly regulated financial services market,” Blackwell Global noted.
Blackwell Global Hong Kong was set up in 2015. The company offers multi-asset investment solutions including global stocks, options, futures, spot and bullion precious metals, forex, and asset management products.
Early last year, Blackwell Global obtained Type 1 and Type 2 licences from Hong Kong SFC to offer securities and futures contracts to Hong Kong and global investors.
