Peat joins from his role as principal private secretary to The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

As a member of the committee, Peat will work closely with Barclays Wealth focusing on its charities and philanthropic offering.

During his time working for The Queen and The Prince of Wales Peat has been extensively involved with the charitable sector.

The UK&IPB Advisory Committee, chaired by Nigel Rudd, is comprised of experienced leaders who promote and introduce business to Barclays Wealth.

Barclays Wealth head of UK & Ireland private bank David Semaya said having spent nine years as chairman of The Prince’s Charities Foundation, as well as serving as a non-executive director of the Arbuthnot Banking Group, Sir Michael brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge built up over his years advising a range of organisations in the UK.
