British banking group Barclays has appointed Simon Phillips as the new Guernsey country manager for its Guernsey business.
Phillips’ financial career spans over 20 years in banking, family office, captive insurance and institutional industries across London, the Isle of Man and Jersey.
Having joined Barclays in 2006, he presently oversees the group’s captive insurance and family office operations in the Channel Islands.
In addition to taking up the new responsibility, Phillips will also continue to spearhead the captives team.
Barclays managing director in the Channel Islands Paul Savery said: “Simon brings tremendous experience, perspective and vision and will help us build on the positive momentum we are seeing across the business as we positively invest in Private Bank & Overseas Services to deliver continued growth.”
