Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BoAML) has expanded its management team in Europe with two senior hires.

As part of the move, Johan Lustig has been appointed as head of its global corporate and investment banking division in the Nordic region.

Based in Stockholm, Lustig will report to Bob Elfring and Diego De Giorgi, BoAML’s co-heads of investment banking for the EMEA region.

Lustig spent his entire 17-year career at JPMorgan, most recently as head of Sweden. Prior to this, he served as head of Nordic M&A.

Additionally, Harri Sundvik, who has led the investment bank in the Nordic region since 2006, will focus on client coverage as vice chairman of global corporate and investment banking in the region.

Furthermore, Birger Berendes has been appointed as head of M&A for Germany, Austria & Switzerland, effective from June 2014.

Berendes joins from Greenhill & Co., which he joined in 2001 and served as a partner and member of the leadership group focusing on M&A and restructuring.
