Investment firm Balfour Capital Group has named Hersh Oberoi as the head of its Australia division.

Oberoi’s experience in project management, portfolio consulting, and financial market analysis is expected to enhance the firm’s service delivery and client acquisition in the Australian and Asia-Pacific markets.

His appointment is also anticipated to strengthen Balfour Capital’s services, particularly in addressing the needs of institutional and individual investors with varied asset class requirements.

His efforts are focused on enhancing portfolio construction and risk mitigation to stimulate growth in both domestic and international markets.

Previously, Oberoi was senior project officer at the Department of Justice and Community Safety in Victoria, where he oversaw Covid-19 compliance and risk management.

At Snap Innovations, he worked on the development of trading algorithms and management of trading operations across global exchanges.

His experience is also supported by his roles at National Australia Bank and Genesis Proprietary Trading, where he developed expertise in quantitative trading and investment research.
