Baird, an international employee-owned financial services firm, has announced that Laura Gough, CFA, managing director, has moved to a new position within the firm, joining the Private Asset Management Group at the firm’s Milwaukee office.
As part of Baird Private Wealth Management, the Milwaukee Private Asset Management Group offers investment and planning solutions for pension plans, endowments, foundations, corporate executives and high-net worth individuals and families. The nationally recognized team includes more than 20 professionals who currently manage or oversee approximately US$6 billion in assets.
Gough brings extensive experience working with ultra-high-net-worth clients to her new role. In addition to advising clients, she will focus on business development and relationship management. Since joining Baird in 1991, she has managed the firm’s Retirement Plan Services and Corporate & Executive Services departments.
Most recently, she was responsible for building client relationships between business units, particularly among Baird’s Private Wealth Management and Investment Banking teams.
Gough is a leader within Baird, the financial services industry and her community. Within Baird, she serves as co-chair of the firm’s Business Diversity Council and was one of the founding co-chairs of Baird’s Women Associate Resource Group, which received the Securities Industry Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Diversity Leadership Award in 2011.
Gough was instrumental in securing Baird’s participation as a founding member of the Milwaukee-Area TEMPO Women’s Affinity Alliance, and continues to serve on the SIFMA Retirement Savings Committee on which she previously served as chairperson.

She presently serves on the boards of numerous local non-profit organizations, including the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, WUWM Advisory Board, Milwaukee’s United Performing Arts Fund Finance Committee, Shorewood SEED Foundation and the Committee on Community Engagement for the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Wisconsin. Gough holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Gough lives in Shorewood, Wis., with her husband Tom. They have three children.
